VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE ACTIVITY NIGHT
So far, we only have 3 parents signed up to chaperone the dance on Friday, December 14th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. We would like to get at least 10 and may have to cancel the dance if we cannot safely chaperone it. If you can help out, please contact Heather Acharya (firstname.lastname@example.org) to volunteer.
ACCESS TO WORLD BOOK ENCYCLOPEDIA
Students may now access our own subscription to World Book Encyclopedia through Student Links on the SBMS website. User name: spencerbutte Password: spartans.
WINTER FOOD DRIVE
We have several families in our school community that are in need of a little extra help over the holiday season. Rather than participating in the Food for Lane County Food Drive, we will be conducting our own SBMS Food Drive. Your family can help by donating food, toiletries or money (so we can buy perishable items). We are excited to collect as much food and toiletries as possible and then distribute it back to our SBMS families in food boxes. We will be collecting items through Friday, December 14th.
AVID WISH LIST
Our AVID class is looking for several new board games. They will be used throughout the year during team building opportunities. As you see holiday sales, please consider supporting our goal! We would love: 10 decks of cards, Jenga, Connect Four, Apples to Apples, Scattegories, Heads Up, Pictionary and Battleship.
FOOD SUPPORT OVER WINTER BREAK
Please let us know if your family could benefit from food support over winter break. Call the school at 541-790-8300, or directly contact Heather (email@example.com). All information will be kept confidential.
BINGO NIGHT A HUGE SUCCESS
We would like to thank everyone who helped make our BINGO Night a success. We are so thankful for all of the agencies that donated prizes. We keep prices low/sell food at cost to make sure that this is an equal opportunity for all families.
THANK YOU COMMUNITY PARTNERS
A huge thank you to all the businesses who donated awesome prizes for Bingo night to make these family fun events a little more fun. If you didn’t see these prizes displayed for Bingo night, save the date for January 31st and possibly win prizes at our first ever student and family vs. staff Trivia Night! The following businesses generously donated to our school: Blair Alley Vintage Arcade, Bounce Gymnastics, Capella Market, Cascade Raptor Center, Cornbread Café, Cornucopia, Dickie Jo’s, Domino’s Pizza, Dutch Brothers, Fiddler’s Green, Full City Coffee Roasters, Glenwood Restaurant, Jerry’s Home Improvement, Lube it USA, Mazzi’s, McDonald Theater, OMSI, Papa’s Pizza, Papa John’s Pizza, Prince Pucklers, Science Factory, Track Town Pizza, True Value Distribution Center, U of O Museum of Natural & Cultural History, and Wildlife Safari.
FLU VACCINES – NOT TOO LATE
Influenza typically continues through April. It isn’t too late to benefit from Seasonal flu vaccines. The vaccine is available at pharmacies, your health care provider and Public Health Clinic, 541-682-4041.
Remember, your student must be fever free without the use of fever reducing medications for at least 24 hours, before returning to school after an illness. Your child also must remain home until 24 hours after last vomiting or diarrhea episode. Thanks for helping reduce spread of illnesses.
