Please check through your children’s rooms at home and locate books that need to be returned.  A list of overdue books is posted outside of the library.  Please encourage your child to check this list, even if they are positive that they have returned all books.



On SaturdayMay 18th, North Eugene High School’s acappella group, the Hi-Tones, is offering our second-annual Junior Hi-Tones Camp for 5th-8th grade students in the Eugene/Springfield Metro Area from 9am-12pm. Junior Hi-Tones Camp is a great opportunity for 5th-8th graders to spend a fun morning with us learning a pop song with choreography and vocal percussion. We’ll learn the song together, play games, have some snacks, and get to know each other. Campers are invited to perform the song with us at our Trimester 3 Concert on WednesdayMay 29th, at 7pm in the NEHS Auditorium. Cost to participate is $10 and all proceeds go to the NEHS Choral Department.



While the South Eugene High School search for a head coach continues, they are moving forward with a modified schedule to ensure the girls have the opportunity to develop skills, gain experience and come together as a program.  There will be a planning an informational meeting on Tuesday, May 14th in the SEHS main gym at 6:00pm.  The meeting with provide an opportunity for you to ask questions, register, complete waivers and make any payments necessary. (Families who qualify may receive financial support by emailing  Below you will find a list of opportunities with team levels indicated.  Please review your options. Our first step will be to gather information about interest. Staff and the athletic department will form teams based on numbers of participants and will be guided by the team level structure from the end of the winter season. We are working to solicit coaches and can finalize that process once the registration process is completed. Reminder; summer activities do not represent team placement during the season.  Summer is a time for athletes to keep their hands on the ball, gain experience and have fun.  If you are unable to attend the meeting, please feel free to sign up using the link. Summer Sign ups  and email or call 541-915-0525.  Our head coach search continues and if we have hired a new coach prior to the summer season we will work collaboratively to integrate them into our current plans and possibly augment them if time and resources allow.



4J’s Office of Equity, Instruction and Partnership; Safe Routes to School program and River Road/El Camino del Río Elementary are hosting a district-wide event.  Join us for a Women’s Self-Care Summit on May 22nd at River Road/El Camino del Río Elementary! Food For Lane County invites all children and youth age 18 and younger to eat lunch for free during the summer months. Staff and volunteers serve meals at schools, parks and community centers located throughout Lane County. Each summer, FFLC serves thousands of lunches and breakfasts to children through the Summer Food Program.  Free lunches all summer for Lane County youth ages 2 to 18: 6/24-8/16/19 at various sites and times.  See for specifics.



Rose Children’s Theatre is offering a variety of exciting and unique summer camps for all ages from June 24th through August 23rd. Is your child interested in acting, singing, and dancing? Whether they are returning to the stage or looking for an introduction to the world of theatre, RCT has something for all young actors. With camps aimed at developing skills and experiences for middle and high school aged actors, a good time is guaranteed! There will be an Orientation Meeting on  Wednesday, May 22nd at 6:00pm in the South Eugene High School cafeteria.  Dave Peterson and Dean Blachly, our new coaches, will talk about the summer training program, schedules, expectations, and other things.  You’ll also have a chance to meet some of our Board.  South Eugene Soccer Camp will take place June 24-27.  This our big fundraiser of the year.  Please encourage your friends and family to sign up! .  You’ll note that we are back with Blue Sombrero for our signup process.  In terms of summer planning, returning players ordinarily work as counselors at the camp.  If you can plan any summer travel around that, it would be helpful.  We appreciate your help in making this camp a successful event for the team and community!  We are also looking for a few volunteers for the season to assist the teams.  We will have more information at the meeting, and opportunities for either ongoing volunteering, or single event volunteering.  Registration information is available at the following link:
