8TH GRADE PROMOTION

Mark your calendars – 8th Grade Promotion will be on Wednesday, June 16th.  Time and details TBA.

 

SCHOOL PICTURES

We will be having school pictures for all students the week of May 24th.  Students in Hybrid will get their pictures taken during the school day, while Same School Online and EOA students will have the opportunity to come in on Wednesday, May 26th.  Please stay tuned for more information.

REGISTERING FOR NEXT YEARS ELECTIVES

Parents of 6th and 7th graders: On Wednesday students were asked to fill out a form for their elective class choices for next school year.  The link was provided through Canvas and the Forecasting Google form is available online as well at https://spencerbutte.4j.lane.edu/21-22-sbms-7th-8th-grade-elective-forecasting/

STATE TESTING

State testing begins Wednesday, May 19th for hybrid students who come in on Mondays and Tuesdays and for Same School Online students. Testing is next Wednesday (May 26) for students who come in on Thursdays and Fridays.  If you are taking the test, please arrive at the sixth grade entrance (upper west side of building). Doors open at 12:30pm and students will have the opportunity to grab a lunch and eat from 12:40 to 12:55.  On Monday, May 17th there will be an informational email sent to families of students who will be testing on Wednesday, please refer to this email for further information.

SEHS SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM FOR INCOMING 9TH GRADERS

South Eugene High School’s Summer Bridge program is open for registration! All incoming 9th grade students are welcome to register for the August 2nd – 6th experience. Students will meet new friends, gain valuable insight into high school, and have fun! FREE MEAL BOX PICKUP

Eugene School District 4J will provide 4J students and youth 18 years old and younger free grab-and-go meal boxes every Wednesday in place of the weekly food box delivery.  The weekly meal boxes can be picked up between 12:45–2:15 p.m. at all 4J middle schools, except Arts & Technology Academy.  Each meal box contains four “heat and eat” breakfasts and lunches, plus five dinner meals. Vegetarian, no gluten, reduced-fat milk/soy milk options, and other dietary restrictions or allergen options are available.

SAIL offers FREE one-week academic summer programs virtually and on the University of Oregon campus. SAIL invites rising freshmen through seniors, including 2021 graduates, who meet eligibility requirements, to apply. Choose from a wide variety of subject areas taught by distinguished University of Oregon faculty volunteers through fun social and interactive activities. SAIL is committed to increasing student enrollment and success in college – we offer sessions on the college admissions process, scholarships, and how to navigate financial aid. SPICE CAMP IS OPEN FOR FUN THIS SUMMER

SPICE provides summer camps and science outreach to support girls developing science identities and interests. Participation is open to students who will be in the 6th through 9th grades in Fall 2021. SPICE camp is designed to yield maximum benefit to girls. Preference is given to girls, transgender, and non-binary applicants.
