8th GRADE PROMOTION – THURSDAY, JUNE 16TH
8th grade promotion will be on Thursday the 16th at 7 pm in the large gym. Students will need to arrive by 6:40, and enter through the west doors in the lower hall by the basketball court. Parents and visitors will enter through the main doors to the school. There is no right or wrong way to dress for this event. Students should wear whatever they want, and makes them comfortable. Following the promotion, there will be a small reception in the front of the school. If your student will not be at the promotion, let Heather know asap! LAST DAY OF SCHOOL/RETURNING SUPPLIES
Students will be returning school books and any school materials throughout the week, and iPads will be collected on Friday, June 17th. Please make sure your student brings and returns any additional borrowed (loaner) iPads, library books, classroom supplies, etc. before Friday. Students will be released at the usual 2:35 pm time on the last day.
STUDENTS WITH MEDICATIONS AT SCHOOL
If your student has medication at school, it will need to be picked up by June 17th. Prescription and over the counter medications must be picked up by a parent or authorized adult. EPI-pens and inhalers may be sent home with student only with your permission. If you authorize us to send your students EPI-pen/inhaler with them, please email downes_j@4j.lane.edu. The school office will be open until 3:00pm on June 17th, the last day of school.

AX OF MURDER – SCHOOL PLAY PERFORMANCE
They’ve been working hard all term, and it’s time for the finished product! On Wednesday June 15th, come join Mr. Roderick and his drama class for their presentation of ‘Ax Of Murder’, written by Pat Cook. The play will begin at 6:30 in the large gym, enter at the main doors at the front of the school.

HOME SAFETY OPPORTUNITY; FREE LOCKBOX DISTRIBUTION
As part of the Suicide Rapid Response (SRR), 4J school district is holding special lockbox distribution hours for 4J staff, family, or community members to pick up medication, handgun, and/or rifle lockboxes. These are FREE and are funded by the Oregon Health Authority, Lines for Life, in collaboration with Lane County Public Health. Wednesday, June 15th, 8-10 am, and Thursday, June 16th 4-6 pm at the 4J Education Center , SW Lot. 200 N Monroe St, Eugene. See attached flyer for more information.
GO, BABY, GO SUMMER CAMPS
Taking place in August, and assisted by student mentors from the South Eugene Robotics Team, area middle schoolers will help add joystick controls to ride-on trucks for children with physical disabilities. Students will learn to rewire the truck, add a joystick for control, and add a frame for support. They will also learn valuable electrical, mechanical, and programming skills and have fun in the process! For more information, visit https://tinyurl.com/gbg22signup . SUMMER READING FOR ALL AGES!
Visit any Eugene Public Library location to get your all-ages Adventure Card and enter a free raffle for local gift cards. Plus kids and teens each choose a free book to keep and adults get a free tote bag. Then enjoy fun events in person and online, indoors and out, all summer. SOUTH EUGENE VOLLEYBALL CAMP
Every year, the coaches and Varsity SEHS volleyball players work to put together a camp for incoming 5th – 9th graders. This year the camp will be held at South the week of June 27th – 30th. See attached flyer for more information.
SOUTH EUGENE GIRLS SUMMER LACROSSE DAY CAMP, JUNE 27TH – JUNE 30TH
SEHS Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach, Sara Long, is hosting a 4 day girls’ lacrosse camp this summer for girls in 3rd-9th grade. It will be held from 9 am – 1 pm, at the SEHS turf field.
