COMMUNICATION IN THE NEXT WEEK

With the end of the school year fast approaching, we may be sending out more emails and possibly phone calls to inform you of important information.

INFORMATION ON iPAD COLLECTION/YEARBOOK COLLECTION

Hybrid Students: iPads (and chargers) can be turned in on the last ‘in person’ day for each group and yearbooks will be sent home with students that day as well.

Blue Group: Tuesday, June 15th

Green Group: Thursday, June 17th.

SSO and EOA Students: Students/parents can come by the school to return iPads (with charger), library books, and any other school items, and pick up a yearbook during these dates/times:

Thursday, June 17th 8:00am – 12:00pm

Friday, June 18th 8:00am – 3:00pm

(If these times do not work for your family, please call the office to make other arrangements)

8TH GRADE PROMOTION FOR ALL 8TH GRADERS – JUNE 16TH

Promotion will take place on Wednesday, June 16th between 5:00pm and 8:00pm.  This is a drive thru event for families with “Promotion Gift Bags” for the students. This is for ALL Spencer Butte 8th graders regardless of their learning pathway (hybrid, Online, EOA).  Below you will find a suggested time schedule; however if you cannot attend during your scheduled time, please feel free to come anytime that evening. For families who cannot attend, we will work out other times or methods to make sure students get their promotion materials.

6TH GRADERS PLEASE RETURN COPIES OF ESPERANZA RISING

This year we borrowed several copies of Esperanza Rising from other schools that we need to return.  Currently, there are still approximately 30 copies that have yet to be turned in. Please take a look around to make sure that you do not have this book at your house.  These copies will be stamped with other school names, not Spencer Butte.

ARTS AND TECHNOLOGY SUMMER CAMPS

Emerald Art Center is offering arts and technology summer camps for youth 11-18 yrs, with scholarships that enable low-income families to pay $0-70 for a program valued at $160. Each week of camp is 4 days, 4 hours a day at Emerald Art Center in Springfield. Attached is an informational flyer and more information can be found at https://www.emeraldartcenter.org/youth-art-camp

SOUTH EUGENE HIGH SCHOOL CHEER TRYOUTS

Attention 8th Graders!  South Eugene Cheer Tryouts for 2021-2022 will take place on Wednesday, June 16th and Thursday, June 17th from 4:30pm to 6:00pm at the SEHS turf field! LEARN-TO-ROW SUMMER CAMP

Want to learn a new sport this summer? In our learn-to-row camps, you will learn skills for competitive rowing while enjoying beautiful summer days on the water. This summer camp is a great introduction to the Eugene-based regional club team, South Eugene Rowing Club, serving young adults from all area schools in the South Willamette Valley. SOUTH EUGENE SOCCER DAY CAMP

The South Eugene Soccer Club is pleased to announce open registration for the annual South Eugene Soccer Day Camp!  This is for campers entering grades 1st through 8th in the fall of 2021. ROSE CHILDREN’S THEATRE CAMPS

Rose Children’s Theatre is thrilled to return to programming after a long hiatus due to Covid-19 restrictions. RCT will begin Summer Camps the week of July 5th and run through the week of August 23. These camps are for various age groups, will cover many different themes, and will mostly be outdoors – theatre-in-the-park-style. We are committed to the safety of our actors and staff this summer and will be following the Covid-19 guidance from the Oregon Health Authority for Youth Programs and Day Camps.
