All Clear Update: Today’s Hold Protocol at SBMS

Posted Date: 9/11/24 (3:41 PM)

Good afternoon SBMS Community,

I want to take a moment to inform you about a building process that your child(ren) experienced today. During the passing time between lunch and 5th period we initiated a Hold protocol because we needed to clear the halls to assist a student. Everything is ok and we ended the hold after about 25 minutes. This event was not a drill and all of our students did an excellent job helping us by keeping the hallways clear.

A hold is used when there is an issue in the halls that is not a safety threat- examples include someone having a medical issue or a student needing some other type of support. During a Hold, students stay in their classrooms and activities in the room continue as normal. The only difference between a Hold and a normal day is that students are asked to stay in the classroom until the Hold is lifted.

If you would like more information about all of SBMS's emergency procedures, please check out the latest issue of our weekly newsletter linked here or contact me directly.

Thank you for your time and support,

Paula
